Expo
Don't be daft
Pre-run
No. Lots of great places to run in the Trossachs though.
Race day
This event was originally organised in 2013 to raise funds for Alzheimer Scotland. The event was successful has now become a regular fixture with places selling out quickly.
It will continue to be a no frills event open to runners of all abilities, with the emphasis on minimising costs and passing the majority of the entry fee money to the charity.
The Loch Katrine Running Festival is LGBT friendly. It is non-binary. You can enter as male, female or non-binary. If you are transgender we are happy for you to enter and run in the gender category you identify with.
The races are run along a quiet private road on the shores of Loch Katrine (starting and finishing at the Trossachs Pier) in the Trossachs. It is a challenging route, but runners will be rewarded with some excellent scenery and views.
All finishers will receive a medal and goody bag and there are prizes for the first 3 overall male and female finishers in each race and for the first non-binary finisher in each race.
The Triple Crown title is awarded to any runner who has completed each of the 3 races/distances in order of distance over 3 consecutive years.
The finish
Back at the pier. Stop at the restaurant or take a wee cruise out on the Sir Walter Scott steamer. Perhaps wave to some runners still out on the road.
Where to stay
Anywhere between Aberfoyle and Callander makes for a short drive to the start.
