Description
Now this race and the 10K really do have one of the nicest settings for a start and finish line. Both races kick off together so it feels like a lot of people. A warm up usually starts with about 15 minutes to go and for once
this is actuall good fun.
From the start you head out of the park and onto the main road through the village of Killin. A short length takes you up to the bridge and across the river at the Falls of Dochart. A beautiful spot and one where the photographers are to be found, so make sure you have a smile on.
After the bridge you head onto a small dirt road running alongside the river. A small bridge takes you across the river then you are on a small road heading back towards the park. At the
1.5 Kms
mark the 10K and 5K races split. For the 5k we head right then a left along a small pathway heading up to the loch. At 3 Kms
you reach the turning point and back the way you came for a short section. The race then heads along Pier Road before meeting the main road where you run on the pavement back to the park. On reaching the park you go up a small grassy slope which feels like a mountain.
The is a really nice 5K.
