Description
A wonderful and tough loop run from the village of Luss on Loch Lomond. This route has
761 m
of climb along a short 11.6 Kms
length. The run starts in Luss but quickly takes you onto the trail on the other side of the main A82 and the start of the main climb. Nearly all the climb on this route is in the first section so although it is tough it does allow you the opportunity to catch wonderful views of the loch as you catch your breath.
The path up Beinn Dubh is well walked so easy to follow, but beware as it can get very cold and windy when compared to being in Luss.
Once you reach the top you will see the fainter path stretching out before you heading northwest.
This path takes you round the actual horsesore shape. Again some lovely views, but take care to stick to the path.
You soon reach the summit of Mid Hill at
623 m
and from here it is downhill back to country road. The section is steep and grassy so an easy place to take a tumble- trust us on that one and take care on the down.
Once you reach the tarred road you have a nice easy
3 Kms
or so back to Luss and the car park.Details last updated in July 2023.
