Description
The marshalls guide you from the Loch Long car park across the main road and up to the start line.
This is a small but well run and scenic 10K. Starting on the flat the race quickly reaches the first of the climbs at about
1 Kms
and from here
there the going is tough. You do get some wonderful views at the top of the first climb. From there you follow the forest road around the base of the Arrochar alps.There is a lot of up and downs along the route before at
5 Kms
you arrive at a trail, going mainly downhill and towards the main road. At the main
road you have to follow the marshalls guide on when you can safely cross. Once across the road the trail is flat and runs alongside the small stream until about
7 Kms
when you join the main road and along the pavement till near the end.
Although this is a main road it is very scenic.A short section around the Succoth car park takes you across the small grass section and to the finish line.

Getting in is easy, but this is a propular event and generally fills up quick.

Get there by car to the Loch Long car park or take the train to Tarbet station

Finish
Finish in a wee field and awarded a lovely wooden medal along with snacks and water.
After the race there are also cakes and hot drinks at the village hall where they also do the winner awards.

There are several hotels and lots of B and B in Arrochar and surrounding area.

£27 is the 2025 standard cost of entry to the Arrochar 10K with Scottish Athletics members paying £23.
